Alpargatas is the leading footware company in Latin America. The Company’s growth strategy is based on brand management. Alpargatas also keeps a retail operation to add more value to its business. In 2012, the Company had 448 stores selling the Havaianas, Timberland, Topper, Meggashop and Alpaline brands in Argentina, Europe, US, Asia and Africa. Also in 2012, the Company purchased Osklen, a national lifestyle and luxury fashion company to be used as a reference brand in Brazil and abroad. Its footwear line is produced in six industrial units in Brazil and five in Argentina. The Alpargatas Group has 18.4 thousand employees. Alpargatas has been listed on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) for the past 100 years and is part of the group of companies listed as Level 1 of BM&FBovepa’s Corporate Governance. The Company has an ownership interest in Tavex Algodonera, the World’s largest denim manufacturer, with 8 manufacturing plants in Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Morocco and Mexico and presence in 50 countries.
